IBM Pilot Head Office, Cosham, Portsmouth, UK Norman Foster
This building is one of the first project from Foster Associates. Despite being a building made to cover some space problems, it was so well structured that nowadays it is still in use. The company IBM decided to invest in quality and gave one of his first important projects to Norman Foster, who is one of the most influent architects on the present day. The engineering part was done by Anthony Hunts associates and was build between 1970 to 1971 lasting less than a year of construction and living more than four decades.
It is located in Portsmouth, UK and it is surrounded by trees and grass. Its crystal windows create an effect that makes the building look opaque during the day and transparent in the night.
